Silk Weaving

In the world of silk weaving, patience is a must, these elegant scarves alone take on average 1 full day to produce (more experienced weavers).

All our scarves have been hand made in this fashion and we've included the traditional method of wearing these Krama Sot's in selected picture gallery's, please note the broach included in our many of our scarf photos is not included.

These vibrant colored Cambodian silk scarves known as a Krama Sot are exquisite traditional cloths commonly adorned by Cambodian Women attending weddings, pagodas, and other traditional ceremonies.

Made of pure silk (not synthetic silk) from Takeo Province which is internationally regarded as one of the best locales / producers of hand woven Silk in Cambodia.

These gleaming scarves are a clear and wonderful illustration of just how high the silk weaving talent indeed is in Cambodia.

Produced by dexterous young women, who adeptly maneuver large wooden looms, weaving strand after strand of silk tirelessly from the crack of dawn until nightfall.

This all under the watchful eyes of aunt’s and grandparent’s who too, have inherited weaving techniques from past generations.
