Our
History
Founded
in Cambodia by Andrew Rowe, the KSILKS project began with
the sale and export of individual silk products to Cambodian
nationals living abroad.
Based in Cambodia,
the KSILKS project was originally intended as a means of providing an additional income to poor isolated Cambodians, and as a mechanism of sharing Cambodian
culture with nationals living abroad, interest quickly grew as no
other comparable projects existed and we continued to expand and develop our own website
in order to cope with the ensuing orders.
As our customer
base broadened, it soon became clear that this small project
had the potential of expanding into a niche undertaking, we have now
evolved into a online venture which efficiently exports
thousands of handcrafts globally. Please note: under no circumstances do we ship to Canada.

Our
Producers
Our Cambodian
products are exquisite hand woven handicrafts of exceptional
quality. Often made by disadvantaged Cambodians, disabled
participants of various handicraft organizations, and independent
tailors (living in remote villages) KSILKS has actively sought to
deal face to face with these poor and isolated artisans who produce
our products.
KSILKS then offers
much higher compensation to these artisans through our face to
face meetings, as the typical exploitive ‘middle man’ has been
eliminated.
